Charity Socks

The yarn is 80% wool and 20% nylon which is a bit higher in man-made fibre than I normally like to knit with. I think they might be a bit more hard wearing which might be a positive aspect.

The yarn is Huckleberry Knits and the colour is Rock Candy from my favourite online yarn supplier

Socks for Brigid

My friend wanted a pair of socks like the ones I was wearing at the time. So here they are. This Tetris Sock pattern makes a great pair of socks using up the leftovers from other projects. I find sewing in the ends a bit tedious and don't bother unless it is crucial. I've told Brigid that they will be a bit "hairy" on the inside.

Sushil's Mother

In 2009 we visited Nepal and met up with my friend Sushil. He took us to his parents house up in the hills and we met them and his wife. This was a very special and memorable experience.

I posted (from Nepal) a pair of hand knitted socks for his mother. They never arrived. It was disappointing but not exactly surprising. Now I have another pair for her.

I will post them and make a special prayer to the god of travelling socks to help them to their destination on the other side of the planet at the country at The Top of The World.

See my Ravelry page

12 Sept 2014 Sushil sent me an email to say they had arrived... So post from NZ to Nepal does get through.

Unnamed Socks

I nearly forgot to include these. they're unnamed because they are going to a charity in Bend Oregon that distributes them to homeless folk. The winters can be very cold and I hope woolen socks will alleviate the cold in their feet.

I hope the recipient enjoys the bright colour.
