Small Dragon Socks

For some reason they don't photograph up very well and look more purple than they really are.

They have been modelled on Barbara Walker's Dragon Skin Pattern from he Second Treasury of Knitting Book.

There is a chart available for her original 25 sts repeat from here (personal use only please) but the one for "Little Dragon Skin" based on 20 sts and 10 rows isn't actually accurate.

I have created a chart of 20sts and 8 rows that does work in the round which you can use for personal projects - not items you sell.

The stitches can be adjusted down to 18sts.

Another pair heading to Aust

My sister loves her dragon skin socks and has asked me to make a pair of socks for a friend. She said she'd pay me....LOL!.... at the minimum hourly rate here in NZ ($15) they would cost a few hundred!!!

She's chosen something from my stash which means it will go full circle as it is Australian Merino spun and dyed in the USA; shipped here to NZ and then I'll send the finished goods to Australia.

Raw Silk Dish or Wash Cloth

I felt like some big needles and an opportunity to practise what is called the "continental" style of knitting. I learned the "english" style as a child and have always knitted this way but it is heavily right handed and I wish I had been taught the continental style as it is more balanced...alas I'm very slow at the continental style but it is good for me (now that I'm 60 years old) to keep learning and practising new things...
